Organizations supported by CECI

[UGPPK-S/Z - Burkina Faso] [SONG-TAABA YALGRE - Burkina Faso] [LAAFI - Burkina Faso] [COOPROKASI - Mali] [COPROKAZAN - Mali] [Niger Organizations] [Guinée Organizations]

Thanks to their collaboration through the Uniterra programme, the women involved in the shea filière have become genuine entrepreneurs. Working together, better trained and better equipped, the women producers have improved the quality and diversity of their products as well as their production capacity. This enables them to negotiate higher prices and increase their income, thus improving their living conditions and those of their families. The women producing shea butter are participating actively in their community’s social and economic development.

Here are some of CECI’s partner organizations of women producer, in Burkina Faso, in Mali, in Niger and in Guinea:

UNION DES GROUPEMENTS DE PRODUCTRICES DE BEURRE DE KARITÉ DE LA SISSILI ET DU ZIRO (Burkina Faso)

The Union des groupements de Productrices de Beurre de Karité de la Sissili et du Ziro (UGPPK-S/Z) makes an excellent quality shea butter, meriting fair trade certification by Flo-Cert (since 2006) and organic certification by ECOCERT (since 2007). These two certifications allow the 2,300 women members of the Union to justify a higher selling price, which increases their revenues and as a consequence, improves their own standard of living and that of their families.
