Through its fundraising and mentorship activities, the Club des ambassadrices encourages women’s economic development worldwide and promotes gender equality, more particularly in Haiti, Senegal, Burkina Faso, Niger, Mali, Guinea, the African Great Lakes Region, Guatemala, El Salvador, Bolivia, and Nepal.

2014-2019 Project

of Burkina Faso

The project goal is to increase women’s economic power by promoting the value of nationally produced rice through parboiling and the strengthening of parboiler organizations, so that they may become profitable, professional, and recognized businesses within the rice industry.

Our wish is to see businesses that promote the value of local rice contribute to the improvement of the socio-economic living conditions conditions of rural women in the Hauts-Bassins, Cascades, and Boucle du Mouhoun regions. Mainly young women and female heads of households, these rice parboilers truly hold the purse strings.

This is why it is important to support them through concrete actions:

  • Increase their ability to comply with market quality requirements
  • +
access to credit for parboiler union associations
  • +
    the unions’ rice marketing efforts
2018-2019 annual goal: $75,000 to support 5,000 businesswomen in Burkina Faso
