The annual meeting of the IVCO (International Volunteer Cooperation Organizations) Forum was held in Paris from October 27th to 30th. CECI was present along with dozens of representatives of volunteer organizations from around the world.
After this important conference, CECI signed the Paris Accord on Volunteering for Sustainable Development, which emphasizes the importance of volunteering in supporting the implementation of the Millennium Development Goals as well as a single set of Sustainable Development Goals beyond 2015.
« We firmly believe that the power of volunteering is both a means and an end to the creation of healthy, vibrant societies and to the achievement of future sustainable development goals. » 1
IVCO gathers the delegates from international volunteering organisations across the world to explore innovative practices and to analyse the contemporary issues about this subject. This conference is an opportunity to develop the network of our organisations, to exchange about and discuss innovative approaches together and to build strong partnerships.
This year, the theme was about « Volunteering as a catalyst for post-2015 development policy and practice ».
