The Armande Begin Fund … for the promotion of women in Mali
Armande Bégin has worked in many countries, particularly in Mali, as a volunteer of the Centre for International Studies and Cooperation (CECI). She was totally committed to supporting initiatives aimed at improving the health of women and their children, as well as their economic situation. She was married to Yves Pétillon, CECI Director from 1989 to 1999. They worked together in Rwanda, Burkina Faso, Peru, Haiti and in Mali.
Dedicated to working in the field with these women in Mali, CECI supports the strengthening of institutions and organisation working for the promotion of more equal relationships between women and men. They financially support projects aimed at increasing the incomes, health and the access women have to equal rights with men.
The donations received in memory of Mrs. Bégin will reinforce CECI commitments to the women of Mali.
