The Uniterra program at the Quinzaine du Commerce Équitable!
The 10th annual Quinzaine du Commerce Équitable will take place in Montreal, April 30–May 15, 2011. Uniterra, the volunteer cooperation program of CECI and World University Service of Canada (WUSC), is taking part in this large-scale event with the purpose of spreading the word about fair-trade issues to the Canadian public.
The Quinzaine du Commerce Équitable will feature two main events:
The 4th annual Quinzaine du Commerce Équitable Fair in Montréal (April 30 and May 1)
The Quinzaine du Commerce Équitable Fair will take place at Jean Talon Market, site of some of the most important fair trade hotspots in Québec. The date was chosen to coincide with the opening of the outdoor market, so the crowds should be out in full force!
The launch of the public awareness campaign and the Quinzaine Fair will take place Saturday morning at Jean Talon Market. Product samples will be available for tasting.
Location: Jean-Talon Market mezzanine, 7075 Rue Casgrain, Montréal
Date: Saturday, April 30 and Sunday, May 1, 10am–5pm
Events: Press briefing and product tasting at 9am
Fair: Presentation of fair trade producers and their products
Representatives of Uniterra and its partners will be on-site raising awareness about fair trade!
