Uniterra at
Vues d’Afrique

From July 8 to 11, Uniterra will take part in the 19th edition of the Ciné-Spectacles au Clair de Lune, an open-air summer festival organized by Vues d’Afrique at the Théâtre de Verdure in Parc Lafontaine.

At the heart of this rendez-vous with African and Creole cultures, Uniterra will present concrete examples of bridges between these continents and Canada. Indeed, over 200 Canadian volunteers leave for Africa each year with Uniterra, the largest Canadian international cooperation program, managed jointly by CECI and WUSC.

As part of the event, Uniterra will have a booth with two Canadian partners, Karité Delapointe and Artistri, who will present fair trade products from Uniterra’s African partners. The Montreal boutique Artistri will offer crafts from the GIE DANI (Groupement d’intérêt économique - Développement de l’artisanat au Niger), a grouping of thirteen cooperatives that seek to improve the lives of 2,836 crafts men and women from Niger. Karité Delapointe will sell body care products made of shea butter produced by some 3,000 women in Burkina Faso, federated within the UGPPK Union (Grouping of Women Producers of Shea-butter Product of Sissili and Ziro).

We invite you to come and meet, every evening starting at 7pm, representatives from Uniterra and its partners, while enjoying African music, films and food!
