Chantal-Sylvie Imbeault

Chantal-Sylvie Imbeault is Director of Corporate Services for CECI and is completing a masters degree in business administration. She is a graduate of INSEAD (France). Before becoming Assistant Executive Director in 2004, she held various project management positions in Côte d’Ivoire. Ms. Imbeault possesses 16 years of experience in rural economic development. As the economic development and technical assistance officer on several multimillion dollar projects in Asia and West Africa, she evaluated and designed a number of financial aid mechanisms (grants, loans) for farmers and small businesspeople.

Ms. Imbeault spent several years working in Vietnam, in particular with the Department of Rural Development. She developed financing mechanisms, operating manuals, business plans, and training modules for governmental and nongovernmental entities. She also carried out numerous projects in India, Nepal, and Africa.

Through these projects, Ms. Imbeault has built a solid base of expertise in results-based management, participatory planning, and feedback mechanisms designed to enhance the participation of the main stakeholders, including local communities, producers’ organizations, the private sector, and the government.
