Starting in 2022, the Girls and Resilient Education project (FIERES) is implemented in Mali to promote access for girls and adolescents to quality education that is equitable and adapted to local realities in the regions of San, Mopti and Tombouctou.
The project focuses on girls and adolescents in vulnerable situations, including those who have dropped out of school, are nomadic, displaced, or have experienced early pregnancies.

Its focus on access to primary and secondary education, while putting forward educational alternatives, ensures continuity of learning in the event of dysfunction in formal schools.

In the case of adolescents and young women who are not enrolled or who have dropped out of school and cannot return to formal school, the project will support them through vocational training and facilitate their integration into the job market or the start-up of income-generating activities.

Through this project, CECI and its Canadian partner, the Fondation Paul Gérin-Lajoie, aim to :
- Increase access to education for girls and adolescents, particularly the most vulnerable, by addressing barriers to schooling;

- Improve formal and non-formal learning conditions to make them more acceptable to parents, girls and adolescents;

- Strengthen the participation of adolescent girls and women in decision-making processes in schools, learning spaces, their communities and the labor market.
